Digitalization is becoming the key factor for economic growth both for business and public sector. Today digital technologies integration is being replaced with the digital economy complex development on a national scale.
Effective cooperation among all the digitalization process participants is becoming essential due to this trend, covering public executive authorities, business sector representatives, educational institutions, industrial companies, business co-financing organizations and development support structures.
The integration process is coordinated by the State that makes major development directions and provides the digital economy legal basis.
St.Petersburg Digital Forum appears to be a new platform to arrange an open dialogue of all the subjects of digital economy not only in St.Petresburg itself, but in the framework of the cities and regions economy integration into the digital economy of the whole country.
The Forum aims to gather senior executives of the real business, representatives of the banking, educational, manufacturing and all related industries to jointly elaborate the clear understanding of the following key factors:
Digital economy is not only about new technologies, or the process of transferring enterprises communication with each other and public sector into the digital form, and not only about automatization of separate work processes and replacement of the human resources with software tools.
What is most significant – digital economy is about transformation of perception and mentality. The principle of business modeling itself is changing; brand-new formats, industries, tendencies, spheres of development and involvement appear and become real not only because of the new technologies, but due to discharging from stereotypes and with the help of readiness to perform swift and efficient transformation.
Requirements to human resources, skills and competences are changing fundamentally. For today – the business going under digital transformation is looking for human resources answering new and rapidly adapting standards, but in the nearest future the staff with undemanded competences will disappear form the market together with business oriented to them. New graduates will appear – with new skills and standards. The business sector needs to learn how to work in new realitiy, actively form requirements in order to educate new human resources and set tasks to educational institutions.
The gap between innovative and traditional enterprises will grow, negatively affecting the country economy. At the same time transformation to digital economy can not be implemented on one’s own. In order to develop general principles, priorities and directions –joint activities of the business, educational and development institutions, industrial titans and public authorities are required. Therefore, the Forum aims to create a unified platform for leaders of enterprises of different levels, with various experiences and competences, as well as for development organizations, financial satellites, higher educational institutions and public authorities to discuss the innovations application, receive experience from the industry flagships, bring up the most relevant topics and develop strategies to solve tasks set by the digital economy.
